Murkury and Lavier met almost 10 years ago when they were both living in the mountains of Western North Carolina. That region is the birthplace of both of their projects and the people, environment, and experiences they had played a huge role in shaping both of them as people and music makers. They've become close friends over the years, playing shows together and messing around with collabs here and there but nothing really landed until they began working on this project. For some reason, things just finally clicked with these songs. The EP, “Worlds Collide”, is titled such because you can hear each of their artistic voices clearly in both tracks, but they come together as one in a very cohesive way.
They are also both excited to feature Criso’s remix of the title track “Worlds Collide” on this project. He’s another North Carolina friend and they are both huge fans of him as a person and his work as a producer here in the North American dubstep scene.
Since this is such a near and dear project to both of us, Murkury and Lavier are self releasing this project and are handling all of the artwork, animations, tour visuals, and distribution in-house. It’s been a joy to work on this from start to finish and they hope people pick up on that through the level of care they've put into the project.
A scorcher! Dubstep, drum & bass and more get thrown into the shredder on this album, and the results are delightfully defiant. Bandcamp New & Notable Jul 10, 2023
